ANDREW COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just before 1p.m. Thursday in Andrew County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Ford F150 driven by Jean M. Smith, 63, St. Joseph, was entering U.S. 169 from a private driveway two miles south of Rochester.
The Ford F150 struck the passenger side of a northbound Ford F350 driven by Michael L. Peterson, 57, Shelbyville. After impact the F350 crossed the center line, started to skid, overturned and the driver was ejected.
Peterson was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Meirhoffer Funeral Home.
Andrew County EMS transported to passengers in the F350 Gary Mayhall, 56, Shelby, Nebraska and Montgomery P. Hightshoe, 37, Paris, Mo., to Mosaic Life Care. Smith was released at the scene. The driver and passengers in the F350 were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
