MERCER COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 5p.m. Sunday in Mercer County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Ford SUV driven by Antonia R. Benninghoff, 27, Carthage, IL., was westbound on U.S. 136 just east of Princeton.
The vehicle dropped of the north shoulder of the road and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle returned to the road, traveled off the south side of the highway down a ditch, struck an embankment at the edge of a driveway, went airborne over the driveway, landed and overturned.
Mercer County EMS transported Benninghoff to Wright Memorial Hospital. A passenger in the SUV refused treatment at the scene. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
