State track got started in Jefferson City on Friday with the Class 2 championships.
The North Platte girls finished second (58 points) and the West Platte girls finished third (35 points) in the team standings. Both the Panthers and Blue Jays had multiple relay teams that came home with medals.
Girls’ triple jump
East Buchanan’s Emma Klein is a state champion with a jump of 11.18 meters, topping Plattsburg’s Laticia Hamilton, who placed second in the event at 10.90 meters.
Girls' high jump
Lathrop's Josie Wright placed seventh at 1.49 meter (4 feet-10.5 inches).
Girls' long jump
East Buchanan's Emma Klein placed sixth with a jump of 5.14 meters (16 feet-10.5 inches). North Platte's Haley Sampson placed seventh at 5.10 meters (16 feet-8.75 inches).
Girls' pole vault
Maysville's Mirabella Redman placed seventh by clearing 2.96 meters (9 feet-8.5 inches).
Girls’ javelin
Mid-Buchanan’s Kacie Livengood placed second with a throw of 34.44 meters (113 feet, PR). Lathrop's Arissa Jackson placed fourth at 33.11 meters (108 feet-7 inches).
Girls' shot put
Maysville's Ashley Brown placed 5th at 11.01 meters (36 feet-1.5 inches).
Girls’ 4x100 meter relay
North Platte’s Lonee French, Olivia Rogers, Kalli Schuster and Trinity Wrightfield are state champions with a time of 50.50 seconds - a new school record.
West Platte's Gretchen Raney, Katie Groom, Gracie Raney and Mikenna Peters placed fourth in the event with a time of 51.39 seconds.
Girls’ 4x200 meter relay
North Platte’s team of Haley Sampson, Olivia Rogers, Madison O’Neill and Trinity Wrightfield placed second with a time of 1:42.43 - a new school record.
West Platte's team of Gretchen Raney, Libby Vandel, Katie Groom and Melanie Waters placed fourth at 1:48.88.
Plattsburg's Lia Graham, Lauren Masters, Raegan Grass and Amina Wendel placed seventh at 1:50.20.
Girls' 4x400 meter relay
North Platte's Madison O'Neill, Trinity Wrightfield, Olivia Rogers and Haley Sampson placed second with a time of 4:05.76 - a new school record.
West Platte's Gretchen Raney, Avery Holmes, Libby Vandel and Melanie Waters placed 5th at 4:15.48.
Girls' 4x800 meter relay
North Platte's Olivia Rogers, Jessa Cassity, Gracie Ramsey and Shelby Lingle placed third at 10:15.31 - a new PR.
West Platte's Katy Tharp, Maddison McMillan, Kaitlyn Renke and Julia Pattison placed 7th at 10:28.96.
Girls' 100 meter dash
Mid-Buchanan's Jordan Thornton placed fourth at 12.57. West Platte's Mikenna Peters was 8th at 12.81.
Girls' 200 meter dash
North Platte's Madison O'Neill placed second at 25.70. Her teammate, Trinity Wrightfield, placed seventh in the event at 26.50.
Girls' 400 meter dash
North Platte's Madison O'Neill placed second at 59.15 seconds. Her teammate Haley Sampson was right behind her in third at 59.34 (PR).
Girls' 3200 meter run
West Platte's Julia Pattison placed 5th with a time of 11:59.08.
Girls’ 100 meter hurdles
West Platte’s Mikenna Peters placed 2nd with a time of 15.21 seconds. She then placed third in 300 hurdles with a time of 45.69 seconds - a new school record.
BOYS
Boys’ long jump
Plattsburg’s Brandon Fonda is a state champion with a leap of 6.92 meters (22 feet-8.5 inches). West Platte's Quinn O'Malley placed third at 6.52 meters (21 feet-4.75 inches) - a new school record.
Boys' shot put
South Holt's Hayden Elifrits placed fourth with a throw of 15.41 meters (50 feet-6.75 inches).
Boys' discus
Lathrop's Dominic Faulkenberry placed 8th with a throw of 41.69 meters (136 feet-9 inches).
Boys' javelin
Lathrop's Daniel Keel placed seventh with a throw of 45.02 meters (147 feet-8 inches).
Boys' 4x100 meter relay
Plattsburg's Matthew Stroud, Skychen Stockton, Carson Stockdale and Luke Halsey placed seventh with a time of 45.08 seconds.
Boys' 4x200 meter relay
Mid-Buchanan's Leyton Starks, Lane Leader, Travis Runyan and Josh Myers placed fourth with a time of 1:32.55. Plattsburg's Matthew Stroud, Skychen Stockton, Carson Stockdale and Luke Halsey placed 8th at 1:33.72.
Boys' 4x400 meter relay
Plattsburg's Carson Stockdale, Luke Halsey, Samuel Lee and Matthew Stroud placed third with a time of 3:31.80.
Boys' 100 meter dash
West Platte's Quinn O'Malley placed fourth with a time of 11.12 seconds.
Boys' 400 meter dash
Plattsburg's Carson Stockdale placed seventh with a time of 51.26 seconds.
Boys' 1600 meter run
West Platte's Charles Kinslow placed 8th with a time of 4:33.60.
