The Saint Joseph Public Library announced the first in a series of events celebrating America's 250th Birthday Monday.

This Wednesday, May 20th, will see author and speaker Dorinda Nicholson at the East Hills Branch. Nicholson's family lived at the tip of the Pearl City peninsula, yards from the U.S.S. Utah, the first ship struck at Pearl Harbor. Her book, Pearl Harbor Child: A Child's View of Pearl Harbor from Attack to Peace, chronicles her experience during that time of war.

The library also teased more programs and events as we move into June and July. For more info, visit the library's website.
