Nathan "Nate" Thornton 46, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, March 20, 2026.
He was born December 22, 1979 in St. Joseph, MO., son of the late Shirley and Larry Thornton. He attended Benton High School. He worked at Buildex Outlet. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and gambling, and spoiling his companion dog Duke.
Nate was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jason Tyler Thornton and niece Maylee DeSpain. Survivors include sisters, Haley M. DeSpain (Ricky Reed), Amber (Randy) Green, son, Matthew Thornton of St. Joseph, MO, and his long time companion, Michelle Cooper, best friend, Josh Zaenker and extended family, and 2 bonus sons, 1 bonus daughter, and 7 grandchildren, as well as 3 nephews and a niece.
