Jeffery S. Elder 66, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at his home. He was born June 10, 1957 in St. Joseph, son of Bobbie and Robert Elder.
He graduated from Fayetteville Tech School in GA. He married Jannett "Jan" McDowell on October 1, 1979 in St. Joseph. He served in the US Army. Jeff spent many years as a Manager in the retail Grocery Business. He loved fishing and spending time tinkering and crafting used materials into artwork.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Amanda Elder, and sisters, Darla Bailey and Vonda Elder.
Survivors include wife, Jan Elder of the home, daughter, Tyan Elder, grandchildren, Ethan Elder and Shelby Lee, great-grandson, Shannon Ladish, sister, Regina Elder, and brother, Shawn Elder, all of St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Cathedral of St. Joseph. Father Stephen Hansen, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Cathedral of St. Joseph. The Interment will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
