Marguerite Mueller March 25, 1929-March 16, 2026

Marguerite Martin Mueller, 96, of Atchison, KS , formerly of Lewis and Clark Village at Sugar Lake, died on Monday, March 16th, 2026, at the Atchison Medicalodge.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Church and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Condolences may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Marguerite was born on March 25, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Raymond F. and Gracy (Martin) Moore. She graduated from Ursuline Academy High School, San Antonio, TX in 1946. She attended Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, TX, for two years. Marguerite worked as a retail personnel director for Allied Department Stores in San Antonio, TX.

She was married to Samuel McRoberts Mueller on April 15, 1948, in Texas. Mr. Mueller preceded her in death on March 1, 2007. They moved to Atchison in 1981. Marguerite was a member of the St. Benedict Church, was an Oblate for St. Benedict’s Abbey, was a member of the “Friends of the Atchison Library” and also volunteered at the Muchnic Gallery. Marguerite was a 40-year member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR). She enjoyed playing Scrabble, had an interest in Democrat politics, was an avid reader and was a member of several book clubs. She enjoyed traveling the world and competing in sailboat races throughout the Midwest with her husband. Marguerite was a lover of cats and often sauteed shrimp for them: only the best.

Survivors include two nieces, and two nephews from Australia. Marguerite and Sam considered Jenny and Mark Mahieu, Olathe, KS and Kathy Sharp, San Antonio, TX, Janet Bray, Burnet, TX as their unofficial adopted children.
