Connie Lavina (Mason) Jarrett, 83, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at Belleview Care Center in St. Joseph MO after a long stretch of health challenges. She was ready to join her adored husband Bill in Heaven but still found joy in some simple pleasures: visits with her children, eating chocolate truffles and other treats from staff and family, drinking Diet Coke, and listening to her favorite classical music. Born on February 11, 1942, in Purdin MO, Connie was a multi-faceted woman with an unconventional and extraordinary mind, a phenomenally talented musician who could play the piano and many instruments with effortless virtuosity, lithesome dancer, voracious reader, prolific writer, and an oftentimes fun, unusual and lively mother, friend and companion. During her working years, Connie held positions in the advertising, fashion, hospitality, secretarial and cosmetology industries and received awards for her excellent work. She and her husband Bill were dedicated pet parents to many cats and dogs over the years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Louise (née Blackburn, formerly Mason) Harmon (d. 2010); her father, Robert Henry Mason; her devoted husband of 50 years with whom she traveled the world, William Lynn Jarrett (d. 2022); and her former husband, John Burke Pollock. (d. 2014).

Connie is survived by her loving children, daughter, Andrea H. Pollock of New York; and son, John G. Pollock of Kansas; her stepson, David Jarrett of Florida; and stepdaughters Dawn (Brown) and Leann Jarrett of Missouri, and Shawna (Pollock) Robinson of Washington State. She also leaves behind her brothers, Paul and David Harmon of Missouri; her sisters, Rita (Hess) and Sheila (Parker) of Wisconsin; and a very dear friend and former fiancé from years past, Thomas Thompson of Urich, Missouri.

We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Bill and Connie’s neighbor Pam Felder, and to the compassionate Asera hospice team, especially Rona Miller-Ramseier, Tanya Ewing, Melissa Wood, Mika Luckow, and Chaplain John, along with the dedicated nurses and care workers at Belleview Care Center for the professional care and friendship they provided to Connie during these last years. The comfort, peace and practical assistance you brought to Connie and our family, including Bill, will never be forgotten. Your kindness, guidance, and support made an incredibly difficult time easier to navigate. We are forever thankful for the selfless care each of you provided.

If you wish to honor the memory of Connie (and Bill), please consider rescuing a cat or dog in need of a home, or donating to your local animal shelter.

[The Lord said] “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:23, ERV)
