The Northwest Missouri State University football team is back in the DII national rankings through five games and after posting a big win over Central Oklahoma this past Saturday in Maryville.
With first year head coach John McMenamin at the helm, the Bearcats are now 4-1, and have won four consecutive games, reaching #24 in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 and #20 in the D2Football.com polls.
Northwest, whose now 3-0 in the MIAA, knocked off previously ranked #15 Central Oklahoma on Saturday in Maryville 38-16. Prior to this week, the Bearcats were last ranked in the Top 25 polls in last seasons preseason Top 25, ranked #22 by both the AFCA and D2Football.com.
Northwest will have an open weekend this week and will next take the field October 11th on the road at Central Missouri.
