Kathy Louise Leeper, 76 of White Cloud, KS passed peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Vintage Park, Hiawatha. Kathy was born on January 29th, 1947 at White Cloud, KS to the late Kenneth and Louise Rodecap Edie.
Patrick and Kathy were united in marriage January 29, 1965 in Falls City, Nebraska. She survives. They were proud parents of a daughter Patricia Leeper of Hiawatha, KS, three sons: Dennis Leeper of Hiawatha, Donnie Leeper of Daytona, FL and Danny (Alana) Leeper of St. Joseph, MO. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren: Rachel (David Crawley) of Horton, Samantha (Robert) Reynolds of Hiawatha, I’Quajanae (Javon) Henderson of Hiawatha, I’Quaveayre (Bubba) Jackson of White Cloud, Robert Leeper of Topeka, Susan (Erick) Oreskovich of Beatrice, NE, Destiny Simpson of Fairview, KS, Jayden Behrends of Ashland, NE, Colby Elms of Falls City, NE, Justin (Rachel) Leeper of Lincoln, NE, Taylor Wild of St. Joseph, MO, Kelsey (Travis) Lock of Milligan, NE, Bruce Leeper of St. Joseph, MO, and Thatcher Leeper of St. Joseph. MO. and 36 great grandchildren.
Kathy was a member of White Cloud Christian Church where she attended until moving to Hiawatha.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, dancing, canning, cooking, and would never turn down a chance to spend time with family. She enjoyed their little farm in White Cloud where she raised chickens, rabbits, and Bud the Emu, who turned out to not be a Bud. In her later years Kathy enjoyed playing bingo, doing crafts, eating meals with her 3 friends: Deb, Sharon, and the late Mary Jane Waggoner. While at Vintage Park, Kathy enjoyed spending her evenings visiting and watching TV with her beloved friend Deb. Kathy was provided excellent care by Vintage Park, and was loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her spouse in February 2023, her parents, a granddaughter Andrea Elms and 5 unborn great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday, where the family will meet from 5 until 7 p.m. The celebration of eternal life will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday (PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE) July 12th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha. Cremation is planned after the services. Private burial will take place at the Olive Branch Cemetery in White Cloud, KS. Following the service, the family invites everyone to gather for a meal at the Christian Center in Hiawatha.
