Donald "Donnie" Dean Thompson, Jr., 69, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 6:40 P.M.
He was born December 13, 1954 in Independence, Kansas to Donald Dean Thompson, Sr. and Fannie Mae (Dilly) Thompson.
Donald married Jennifer (Bode) Thompson on June 28, 2003. She survives of the home.
He was a mechanic and truck driver for St. Joe Express for 30 years.
Donald enjoyed working on cars, fishing, racing cars, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Dean Thompson, Sr. and Fannie Mae Dilly Thompson; son, Robert Lee Moran III; and brothers, Charles Steele and Walter Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; children, Kelley and Kevin Jones, Donald Jason Thompson, Lovena, Tara and Jimmie Davis, Dalynn Peters, Logan Bode, Gerald, Natalie, Page, and Dakota Thompson; grandchildren, Cassady Thompson, Katie Thompson, Tyson Jones, Nadia Jones, Levi Winterscheidts, Brayden Brooks, Allison Davis, Josie Davis, and Emma Page; great-grandchildren, Elijah Harding, Evelyn Harding, Ledger Davis, Stetson Davis, and Goldie Davis; brothers, Timothy Thompson and James Thompson; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Service 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 20, Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Visitation one hour prior to the service. The family welcomes everyone to join us for a potluck dinner at Hyde Park following the service.
