Mary Jane Schaefer, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.
She was born August 7, 1947 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Richard and Jane (Jensen) Frost.
Mary attended Hawkeye Tech, in Waterloo, Iowa, and then worked as an assembler for Wayne Engineering for 23 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, baking, fishing, camping, crafts, Bingo, going to the casino and singing along to oldies!
Mary was a huge K.C. Royals, K.C. Chiefs, and Philadelphia Eagles fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gary Frost.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa(Frank) Papenberg; son, James Schaefer, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicholas(Julia), Zachary(Ellie) and Emily Papenberg; great-grandchildren, Brooks Arocha, Codee Arocha, and Wyatt Papenberg; and siblings, Bob(Diane) Frost, LuAnn Ross, Jackie Frost, Linda(Michael) Seedorff, Toni(Dan) Ramaker, Michael(Wendy) Frost, and Kristi(Victor) Lawrinenko, and sister in law Lynette Frost.
A celebration of life in Iowa is being planned for a later date.
