Anthony “Tony” Turner, 56, of Smithville, MO passed away, October 23, 2025.
He was born on August 26, 1969 to John E. and Gladys (Hadley) Turner in Smithville, MO. Anthony grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School.
On April 22, 2006 he was united in marriage to Terri (Russell) Hazlett. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.
Anthony worked for Davis Paint Company in Kansas City from 1988 to 2018. He then worked as a street crew leader for the City of Smithville.
He was an avid Raiders Fan and loved to restore cars. Most of all his greatest joy was being a Papa. Anthony played bass guitar and performed in various bands most of his life.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Turner, and his son, AJ Turner.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his lifetime, Terri; children, Toni (CJ) Gallen, Stevi Hazlett, Cassie (Dakotah) Bass, and Jesse (Alicia) Hazlett; grandchildren, Hudson, Hazel, Ryman, Riggs, Sophie, Brighton, and Everly; brother, David Turner; mother-in-law, Sandy Fleming; sisters-in-law, Connie Turner and Shannon Crews; his dogs, Blu and Cinnamon; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will host a Celebration of Life from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2025 at the Smithville Senior Center.
