BUCHANAN COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Sunday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Freightliner semi driven by Seung I. Choi, 47, Woodridge, Illinois, was southbound on Interstate 29 four miles south of St. Joseph.
The semi traveled off the east side of the road, struck a cable barrier, crossed the median, traveled southbound in the northbound lane, traveled off the road, struck a guardrail and overturned.
Buchanan County EMS transported Choi to Mosaic Life Care. He was properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
Interstate 29 northbound lanes were closed at the 35 mile marker in Buchanan County due to the crash. The KHP rerouted traffic onto Route DD west to MO 371 north.
