Janet moved to heaven from her home on Noyes Blvd. just where she wanted to be, on March 18, 2026.
She was born on May 25, 1945 to Joe and Iva (Quimby) Baur.
She worked for the St. Joseph School District for 39 years in Food Services. She also worked the last 7 years at St. Francis Xavier School in Food Services.
She attended Everett Grade School and Lafayette High School. Hanker was active in Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena at St. Patrick's Catholic Church before becoming a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
She was a member of a weekly bowling league with friends in earlier years. Hanker loved cooking for her husband and grandson. She also loved spending time with her grandson talking about life and telling stories about her childhood.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Raymond, in 2018. Also preceded in death by her parents; Sisters, Dorothy Hubbard and Marguerite Snyder; Brothers, George Baur and Raymond Baur.

Hanker was also known with my husband as Tequila Joe and Marguerita Mary and would frequently perform at wedding receptions and fundraising events. She was also known for her delicious Mexican food cooking and would even make perfectly round tortillas.
