St. Joseph Police are investigating a threat that was made at Benton High School Wednesday morning.
Benton principal Lynn Davis says the school received a serious threat, which was reported through a statewide tipline called Courage2Report.
The threat is being investigated, and a student was taken into custody. No student or staff members were in any danger, and classes and activities functioned as normal at Benton Wednesday.
Davis said in an email to parents that the incident serves a reminder to "talk to children about the serious risks and consequences they can face from the school district and law enforcement for such behavior."
The investigation into the threat is ongoing.
