Faye Litvak, 96, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025.
She was born September 25, 1929 to J. Harlan and Irene A. (Wehmeyer) Fales in Atchison, Kansas.
Faye married Milton Litvak on April 15, 1987 and they shared 14 wonderful years together until his passing in 2001.
She retired from a fulfilling career at Missouri Western State University where she was an integral part of the community from 1988 to 1999. Her endeavors also led her to meaningful roles with Fletcher-Mayo Associates, the Management office at East Hills, Danner-Mills, and Seaman-Schuske Metal Works, where she made countless contributions and lasting connections.
Faye's passionate involvement in numerous associations brought her great joy. She was a proud member of the former Temple Adath Joseph. She was also a member of the Beit Echad Synagogue, where her faith and support of spiritual life were unwavering. Her leadership as the former president of the Lover's Lane Chapter of the American Business Women's Association showcased her dedication to uplifting others. Her engagement with the Runcie Club, Temple Adath Joseph Sisterhood, the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, and the Allied Arts Council reflected her love for art, culture, and community service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton; sister, Joy Geller; and brother, Donald Fales.
Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Ellis (Roger); step-daughter, Ellen S. Feldman; step-sons, Rabbi Richard M. Litvak and Lawrence Litvak; grandson, Chris Ellis (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Sha-Ko-Ka Ellis (Ethan) and Bram Ellis (Amy); numerous step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 9, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment B’nai Yaakov Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to Beit Echad Synagogue.
