Oscar Taylor Wilson, Jr, age 88, of Atchison, KS, died peacefully on February 10, 2024.
Oscar was born on July 23, 1935, in Atchison, KS, the son of Oscar T. Wilson, Sr. and Jessie B. (Hanna) Wilson. He attended Lincoln School and graduated from Atchison High School and Atchison Vo-Tech.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 17 Sep 1953 until his honorable discharge on 27 Sep 1956.
He worked at L.F.M. and Kerford Quarry in Atchison, before joining Midwest Grain Products as a utility operator and grain handler for twenty-seven years until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Oscar was first married to Pinkie May (Ware) and later to Donna (McQuiston) Wilson; both preceded him in passing. He was also preceded in passing by his parents and brothers, Clarence Wilson and Duane Wilson.
Survivors include his siblings, Steven (Martha) Wilson, Clark (Toni) Wilson and Jane (Charles) Corlew; and his numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Cremation care entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Homegoing services will be held on February 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Leavenworth National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with military honors.
