Abe Forney has been named as the full-time director of the Public Works &amp; Transportation Department for the City of St. Joseph after serving in the role on an interim basis since early May.

Forney is the airport manager of Rosecrans Memorial Airport, and has been a division head for the public works department for the past nine years.

City officials said in a press release that Forney's role as a division head, interacting with other department divisions provides him with extensive knowledge and will provide for a smooth transition.

Forney’s appointment is effective immediately and his annual salary will be $125,000.
