Lawrence Earl Nash 1950 - 2024

Lawrence Earl Nash was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on March 6, 1950. He was one of three children of Lawrence Russell "L.R." and Alice Erline (Hughes) Nash.

Lawrence graduated from Oregon High School in 1968. He then served in the United States Army during Viet Nam.

On August 2, 1969 married Shirley Elaine Cook, daughter of Leonard Nathaniel Cook and Marion Louise (Wilkinson) Cook at the United Methodist Church in Oregon, MO. They became parents of one daughter and later divorced. 

On October 25, 1994 he married Penny Hensley. She survives of Choctaw, Arkansas. 

Lawrence worked as a stone mason, and some of his favorite jobs were historic preservation projects. He enjoyed fishing and motorcycles.

Lawrence passed away on May 27, 2024 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri at the age of 74. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and twin brother, Clarence Edward "Eddie" Nash.  

Other survivors include his daughter, Jennifer  (Chad) Queener, Creston, Iowa; stepson, Daniel Sliffe, Choctaw, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Justin Queener (Giulia Cavaterra), Arlington, VA, Allison Queener, Creston, IA, Rebekah Queener, Creston, IA  Kirby (Dani) Queener, Osceola, Iowa, and their little one on the way; sister Linda (Denwood) Parrish, Melbourne, FL; nephew, Michael (Deidre) Parrish of Virginia;nieces, Alice Koehler, Florida, Sara (Neil) Dutilly,  North Carolina. and great nieces and nephews.

Services: 2:00 pm, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon, Missouri. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00. Interment with military rites: Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon, Missouri. Memorials: Maple Grove Cemetery.
