St. Joseph Police and Fire are investigating a fire set on the YMCA playground in north St. Joseph. 

YMCA officials say they received calls late Tuesday evening that the playground next to the building at the North Village Shoppes was on fire. The St. Joseph Police and Fire Department responded.

Officials report only minor damage from the fire, limited to damage to a trash can and the xylophone on the playground.  The YMCA is currently working with insurance to assess the damage. The rest  of the playground is still open. 

The St. Joseph Police are currently investigating the incident.
