2 Mo. women injured after driver swerves to avoid dog on the road

CLINTON COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Sunday in Clinton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Honda Odyssey driven by a 42-year-old Ames, Iowa, woman was southbound on Interstate 35 two miles north of Holt in the driving lane.

The driver swerved to avoid a dog in the road. The left front of the Honda struck the right front of a southbound 2008 Ford Focus in the passing lane.  After impact, both vehicles traveled off the east side of the road.

EMS transported the 56-year-old driver Ford driver and a 66-year-old passenger, both of Excelsior Springs, to Liberty Hospital.  The driver of the Honda was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
