Judith Irene Voelker, 81 of Savannah, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.  She was born in Odell, Nebraska on September 11, 1944 to William & Ruth (Dierking) Westermann.  She married William Roger Voelker on June 7, 1969 in Bremen, Kansas; he preceded her in death in 2021.

Judith enjoyed laughing and humor and was a “high spirited” lady who always knew her mind. She was well-known for her baking and cooking, with both extended family, church friends, and more asking for her recipes or just a taste. She traveled extensively, beginning with her 1964 Ford Mustang, and made her way to England for the first time last year. She was a graduate of St. John's College in Winfield, Kansas and Concordia Teachers’ College in Seward, Nebraska.

She brought her love of teaching to elementary and preschool students in Albuquerque, NM; Decatur, IN; St. Louis, MO; and Grand Island, NE. She was also a member of and worked for LCMS churches in Bremen, KS; Minneapolis, MN; Beemer, NE; Keystone, IA; Grand Island, NE; and St. Joseph, MO.

Survivors include her children, William (Virginia) Voelker, Columbus, Nebraska; Julie (Robert) Voelker-Morris, Eugene, Oregon; Leah (Jay) Hall, Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Isaac Voelker-Morris, Elise Voelker-Morris, William Voelker, Gideon Voelker, Wes Hall, and Brogan Hall; two sisters, Maxine Rieger and Linda Westermann.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Judith was dedicated to the mission field and would be honored if you donate to Orphan Grain Train or a charity of your choice.

Memorial services will be Saturday, November 22 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Missouri.
