Bishop LeBlond has taken the team championship in the boys' state golf tournament for the third straight season and the fourth time since 2016.
The Eagles, competing at Crown Point Golf Course in Farmington in Class 3, finished with a team score of 625 - 46 strokes ahead of second place Westminster Christian Academy.
Senior and Missouri Western commit Jeffrey Johnston shot a four-over par 76 Tuesday to finish tied for fourth overall. His younger brother, freshman Timothy Johnston, shot a 5-over par 77 to finish 6th. Sophomore Sam Schoeberl shot a 6-over par 78 to finish tied for 8th.
Freshman Patrick Johnston shot an 8-over par 80 on the final day to finish tied for 10th.
LeBlond has now won the boys' golf team state championship in three different Classes - Class 2 in 2018, Class 1 in 2019 and Class 3 in 2021.
Class 5
Another future Missouri Western golfer, St. Joseph Central senior Daniel Love, had a great second day Tuesday, shooting a one-under par 69 to finish even par for the tournament and place 4th overall - just seven shots away from first.
Love's tournament score of 140 is the best individual team score Central has ever had in the state meet.
Love was also the highest placer in the Class 5 field from a public school.
Class 1
Mid-Buchanan's Noah Hughes shot a five-over par 74 on Tuesday for a tournament score of 151 and a third place finish - just five shots off of first place.
