NODAWAY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Sunday in Nodaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a Honda motorcycle driven by Seger V. Mace, 18, Coin, Iowa, was norghbound on Railroad Street in Elmo. A 2002 Chevy 1500 driven by Darrin E. Harvey, 54, Elmo, was westbound on Route C. The vehicles approached the intersection of the two roads.
The motorcycle driver failed to yield to the pickup as it entered the intersection. The pickup attempted to avoid the motorcycle, partially ran off the road and began to skid. The motorcycle began to skid, overturned and struck the pickup's towed unit.
Seger was transported to Clarinda Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased just after 7:40p.m. Harvey was not injured. Mace was not wearing a helmet, according to the MSHP.
