BUCHANAN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 1p.m. Thursday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 International truck driven by James C. Morris, 59, DeKalb, was northbound on U.S. 59 two miles south of St. Joseph.
The driver pulled to the shoulder and attempted to make a wide left turn and struck a northbound 2000 Peterbilt semi driven by Paul D. Bennett, 52, Seneca, Kansas, who had attempted to pass the International.
A private vehicle transported Bennett to the hospital in Sabetha. Buchanan County EMS transported Morris to Mosaic LIfe Care. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
