The Kansas City Chiefs are keeping one of their young stars on the defensive line for the foreseeable future.
On the day Chiefs players are reporting to St. Joseph for Training Camp, which begins on Tuesday, the Chiefs and defensive end George Karlaftis agreed to a four year contract extension worth $93 million according to multiple reports.
The Chiefs are making sure their top players stay put. The deal comes less than a week after they signed guard Trey Smith to a historic four-year, $94 million deal with $70 million guaranteed, making him the highest paid guard in the NFL.
Karlaftis has recorded 115 tackles, 56 QB hits, 24.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss in 49 games. He's also won two Super Bowls during his tenure in Kansas City.
