Sharon Vaughn Neal 73, St Joseph MO, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born December 17, 1950 in St. Joseph MO to Harold and Colleen Coker. Sharon graduated from Central High School in 1969 and then attended Platt College.
Sharon married Michael Neal on October 9, 1976 at the First Assembly of God in St Joseph MO.
She owned an in-home daycare for over 34 years. Over the course of her career, she provided care to over 60 children and loved to make up stories for the kids which they of course believed.
Sharon was an avid Chiefs fan and spent many Sundays and a couple Christmas’s having everyone over at her house to watch the games. She was also very proud to be the oldest of 10 kids and loved spending time talking with her family over a glass of wine.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Harold and Collen Coker.
Survivors include – Husband – Michael Neal of St. Joseph MO. Her children- Jamie Bascue of Kansas City MO; Corey Neal wife Camilla of Olathe, KS; Krisit Pointer husband Chris of St. Joseph MO. Six grandchildren: Jake McDowell, Devin McDowell, Zooey Neal, Hadley Neal, Ryan Pointer, and Randy Pointer and numerous great-grandchildren. Sisters - Teresa Evans husband Don of Wathena KS; Sue Francis husband Harry of Savannah MO; Joni Hutchins husband Brett of Raymond MS. Brothers - Mark Coker wife Michele of St. Joseph MO. Danny Coker wife Becky of St. Joseph MO. Ray Coker of St. Joseph MO. Billy Coker of Whitehouse TX; Bobby Coker wife Penny of Whitehouse TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will held be on Monday August 19th at 2:00 pm, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph. There will be a gathering following the funeral at Green Acres Ballroom.
