HOLT COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 8a.m. Friday in Holt County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by Amy N. Bender, 36, Maitland, was southbound on Madison Street at Missouri Street in Oregon.
The pickup was stopped at a stop sign. A 6-year-old Oregon boy attempted to cross the street. The driver accelerated and struck the child.
Atchison-Holt ambulance transported the boy to Mosaic in St. Joseph. Bender was not injured and properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
