Lee Glen Austin, 79, of Holton, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 15, 1944 at Marysville, the son of Walter and Maudie Goad Austin. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the 24th Infantry Division from 1962 to 1965. He also attended Central Nebraska Technical College.
Lee was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holton until it closed. He was then a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton. He was also a member of Holton American Legion Post No. 44.
Before he was married, Lee had worked as a meat cutter for an IGA Grocery Store. He later worked for Dale’s Electronics in Norfolk, NE and for Automatic Electric, installing telephones and other communication equipment. His last job before retirement was with Douglas Communications in Holton.
Lee married Karla Kay Allgeier on August 7, 1966 at the Church of the Brethren near Summerfield. She survives, of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Richard Taylor.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Austin (Stacey), Kansas City, MO and David Austin (Jackie Lynn), Holton, and two grandchildren, Lucian and Zoe Montgomery.
Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22nd at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Inurnment with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. the same day in the Greenwood Cemetery at Blue Rapids.
