COVID-19 cases top 1K in Buchanan County; 9 hospitalized in St. Joseph

Cases of COVID-19 have topped 1,000 in Buchanan County and, with the reporting of three more deaths over the weekend, the county now reports nine coronavirus-related deaths.

St. Joseph health officials say three women, two in their 80s and one in her 90s, died this past weekend of COVID-19 related illnesses. All had underlying medical conditions.

Mosaic Life Care has now tested 16,055 area residents with 714 testing positive for COVID-19. Nine patients are hospitalized in St. Joseph. Mosaic is awaiting results from 325 tests.

Officially, the county reports 901 confirmed cases with 109 probable.

Andrew County reports 77 cases; 66 confirmed and 11 probable with one death.

Doniphan County, Kansas now reports 32 cases.

Missouri health officials report 33,624 cases since counting began with a total of 1,132 deaths.

Kansas health officials have recorded 23,334 cases with 307 deaths.
