She married Robert L. “Bob” Hopkins in March of 1945, and they were nearly inseparable for their entire marriage. They lived in Atchison, until the late 1950’s when they moved to a farm in Old Huron. Bob preceded her in death on September, 14, 2006. After Bob’s passing, she married Bill Hargrove, he preceded in her death on September 18, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Zeltner and his wife, Bert.
Mary was a proud housewife and homemaker, but she was also very helpful in the daily operations of the farm work. She always made time to talk to her family, friends and neighbors and she cherished those conversations. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was an active member in the altar society throughout her life.
