Stephen (Mike) Blevins 77, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in St. Joseph, MO.
He was born December 4, 1948, in St. Joseph, MO, son of Jo Ann and Kenneth Blevins. He graduated from Central High School and married Karen Welborn on December 25, 2010. He served in the United States Marine Corp and is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal-Certificate of Commendation and a Good Conduct Medal. Mike worked in the Transportation industry for 25 years, and was also a musician for over 30 years, playing in many bands as a drummer and lead singer from 1964 to 1994.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Linda Derr, and a step son, Harvey Owens, Jr. Survivors include wife, Karen Blevins of the home, a brother, Larry (Gwen) Blevins, of GA, sons, Corey Blevins of Saint Joseph, MO., and Damien (Amanda) Blevins of Agency, MO, step daughters, Tammy (Douglas) Flowers of Springfield, MO, Sara Shell of St. Joseph, MO, and Megan Owens of SC, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 1:00 pm, Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery . Memorials are requested to the Tunnels for Towers.
