Mary Elizabeth Marriott, 81, of Troy, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mary was born on April 25, 1942, in Troy, Kansas, daughter of Don and Anna Marie (Bracken) Winkel.
She graduated from Troy High School in 1960. Mary worked various jobs throughout her life, including, Whittaker Cable, Sherwood Medical, Troy Fast Lane, Jarrett/Simpson Hardware, Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department/ Dispatcher, DCSW, Heartland Regional Medical Center/Transport Driver and the Feed Store Café/Cashier and waitress. Mary was a former member of First Baptist Church, Troy. She has been attending Troy Christian Church.
Mary was the first official score keeper for the American Legion Baseball team.
Mary and John worked and raised 4 children, and still found the time and money to sponsor children from the Noyes Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending sports activities and going to the casino. No matter who visited Mary’s home, she always said “Come Back.”
Mary married John Haven Marriott on September 3, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Troy. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Mendi Marriott, brother, Gene Shelton and brother-in-law, Mike Hegarty.
Survivors: daughter, Lori Euler (Rick), Wathena, Kansas, granddaughter, Avery.
Sons, Darrel Marriott, Longs, South Carolina, and granddaughter, Tamra Danielle Almeida (Nathan) great-grandchildren, Graeme, Vivian and Carrington.
James Marriott (Sheila), Blair, Kansas, grandson, Jesse Marriott (Taylor), great-granddaughter, Sunday, and granddaughter, Madison Wolters (Drake).
John Mike Marriott (Deanne), Troy, Kansas, granddaughter, Ryann Ogden (Cody), great-granddaughter, Blaikley, and granddaughter, Kelli Marriott (Fiance, Derek Pruitt).
Sisters, Virginia Winder (Kenneth), Donna Smith (Paul), Terri Hegarty and Barb Winkel all of Troy, Kansas.
Becky Winchell (Dennis), St. Joseph, Missouri.
Brothers, Allen Winkel (Laura) and Kevin Winkel (Cheri) both of Troy, Kansas.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2023.At the First Christian Church, Troy, Kansas.Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Monday evening at the church. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas.Burial: Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas.
