Maysville, Missouri….Marilyn Mae Stockdale, age 92, was born January 9, 1932, in Plattsburg, Missouri, the daughter of D.L. and Clystie (Kearns) Cannon and passed away March 16, 2024.Marilyn married the love of her life and best friend, “Bill” Stockdale on June 6, 1949, and to this union one daughter was born, Irris Elaine. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together and throughout those years they opened their home up to over 67 people (adults and children) who were homeless at the time. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stewartsville where she was the organist for many years. She had much life in her 92 years with her love for Jesus Christ guiding her throughout. Marilyn had different varied careers and many talents and skills throughout her life including: a seamstress, nurse, restauranteur, barrel riding champion, expert marksman and hunter, painter, musician, song writer and poet. She could make the ground grow anything and nurse sick animals and people back from the brink. She always grew a large garden and shared with anyone in need. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy; daughter, Irris Green; two sisters, Lois Brown and Helen Farnsworth.Survivors include grandchildren, William Green (Liz), Maysville, Jason Green (Lisa) Bentonville, AR., Paula Green (Rich Carmichael) Springfield; great-grandchildren, Kathy, Bailey, Levi, Max, Sam, Reece, Jack, Austin, Anthony, and Conor; brother, Marion “Buck” Cannon; several great nieces and nephews and loving friends.Visitation will be from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Stewartsville (109 W. 8th Street, Stewartsville, MO. 64490) with burial immediately following at Bethel Cemetery in Cosby, Missouri.
