Sherry Lynne Readenour (Oxford) passed away on Sunday, November 2nd in St. Louis, Missouri surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and son-in-law. Sherry was born on February 14th, 1952 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a proud graduate of Lafayette High school and spent most of her years in the St. Joseph area as an educator at East Buchanan High School, Hillyard, Central High School, Savannah High School, and Missouri Western State University. Sherry was also an active Lafayette alumnus up through the final months of her life.
She loved her Wheel of Fortune, anything remotely that had to do with World War II, the Walton's TV show program, and all of her cold drinks filled with at least a 101 ice cubes.
She didn't know a stranger and was loved by many.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Charlotte Oxford, (and Patrick Readenour). She is survived by her brother and sister, Mike Oxford and Kelly Oxford Morse, two children, Robin Readenour High and Ryan Readenour, two grandchildren, Andrew and Daniel High, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and the hundreds of students she had taught over the years.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 8th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 p.m.at Heaton Bowman Smith funeral home with a memorial service to be held at 3:00 p.m.
