The St. Joseph City Council is set to vote on of pieces of legislation related to city projects in development during its regular meeting at 5:30 pm tonight at St. Joseph City Hall.

An ordinance approving the issuance of $32 million in Taxable Industrial Development Revenue Bonds to finance Triumph Foods LLC’s expansion project will be first on the council’s agenda.

Serving as one of the largest pork processors in the United States, the project aims to expand Triumph Foods’ facility at 5302 Stockyards Expressway for increased cold storage and shipping space, and to make way for new equipment and machinery acquisition and installation.

Also for approval is an ordinance to authorize the repair of the Frazier Radio Tower Transmit and Receive Antenna System that was damaged by a lightning strike.

Another key project that will be discussed by the Cicy Council is a project to develop a cardiac center currently in development by Mosaic Life Care.  If completed, the Mosaic Cardiac Center of Excellence will be built on the Mosaic Life Care Campus in St. Joseph.  Tonight's meeting will introduce an ordinance authorizing the acceptance of payment from Mosaic Life Care for future professional service costs associated with the project.

Along with those projects, there are other projects on the docket that will be addressed by the council.  A city council work session is scheduled to take place prior to the regular meeting from 4 to 5 p.m. To be discussed is a progress update on a Survey Guided Action Plan presented by the city’s health department.
