Rodney Gene Blanton, 65, born on June 25, 1958, in Topeka, KS, passed away on September 23, 2023 at 7:30 AM.
Rodney was a skilled sheetrock construction worker by profession and approached his work with dignity and commitment. Those working alongside him admired him for his work ethic and friendly nature.
Fishing was Rodney's solace, with flathead catfish as his preference both in catching and at the dinner table. Fond memories are of his peaceful moments by the river's edge, rod in hand and contentment in his heart.
Rodney will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary Terryberry, his children, Onica and Andy Blanton, and his grandchildren, Kianna Grigsby, Kyleigh, and Asen Blanton. He will also be greatly missed by his brothers: Terry (Mary), Tim (Barbara), and Brian (Kim) Blanton, along with his former wife, Maxie Blanton. Rodney was predeceased by his father, Gale Blanton.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
