Mark Steven Wright 1968 - 2023

Mark Steven Wright, 55, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023.

He was born May 10, 1968 in Washington, D.C., to Steven and Sherry (Bartch) Wright.

Mark proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, first in the 2nd Armored Division, nicknamed Hell on Wheels, and then in the Alpha Company of the 142nd Signal Battalion, both based at Fort Hood, Texas. He was deployed during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

Mark married Tammie Kay Breckenridge on October 24, 2010. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2020.

He was a Senior Pilot Plant Technician and Internal Thermal Process Expert for Nestle for 25 years, helping perfect processes before they were rolled out companywide.

Mark was passionate about many things, including his video games -- especially Fallout 4 and Grand Theft Auto, anything Star Wars, medieval things, his guns and dirt bikes. He loved to kick back with a cold Busch Light.

Mark loved music, especially his sons’ punk rock band, Almost Enemies. He was their biggest fan and never missed a show.

A big family man, Mark always made sure they were taken care of. He was a great man.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammie; father, Steven; and his grandparents, Mildred and Floyd Bartch.

Survivors include his children, Kyle Culp, Jacob Wright (Erin Wilkins), Jessica Wright (Connor Fraley), Jacob Hughes, Jada McMillen and Jordan McMillen; grandchildren, Zander, Zoey and Azalea Culp; his mother, Sherry Bartch; siblings, Chad Wright (Spencer), David Hughes (Heidi), Nathan Wright and Jessica Wright; other extended family members and friends; and his beloved dog, Shamus.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
