Gerardo Herminio Zamora Alarcon, 86, Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away May 8, 2025.
He was born April 25, 1939, in Bayamo, Cuba to Ambrosio Zamora and Hortencia Alarcon.
Gerardo was a joyful, humorous, and lighthearted man with a deeply spiritual nature. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as playing dominoes, smoking a fine Cuban cigar, eating well, fishing, and sharing his many stories from his working life. His presence always brought life to any gathering, especially when surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Martínez Guerrero; his parents, Ambrosio Zamora and Hortencia Alarcón; and his siblings Carmen Zamora Alarcón, Victoria Zamora Alarcón, Oreste Zamora Alarcón, and Luis Zamora Alarcón.
He is survived with love by his daughters, Hortencia Zamora Martínez, Odelmi Zamora Martínez, Lorenza Zamora Martínez, and Osnel Zamora Martínez; his beloved grandchildren Aylen Domínguez Zamora, Rosa María Montero Zamora, Maylen Zamora Brizuela, and Alejandro Zamora Torné; his dear friends Rita Yáñez and Abelardo Diéguez; as well as many other family members and loved ones who will always remember him with affection.
