ATCHISON COUNTY, Mo. —One person was injured in an accident just before 10p.m Friday in Atchison County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Ford Edge driven by Breann N. Smith, 19, Auburn, Nebraska, was westbound on U.S. 136 one mile west of Rock Port.
The SUV rear-ended a 2022 Toyota Highlander driven by James D. Gerking, 85, Brock, Nebraska, After impact the Ford traveled off the north side of the road and down an embankment. and came to rest in a field. The Toyota came to controlled stop on the side of the highway.
Atchison-Holt ambulance transported Smith to Fairfax Community Hospital. Gerking was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to them MSHP.
