Richard Patrick Miller, 52, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away on August 5, 2025.

Born on July 31, 1973, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his family and a passion for hands-on work and simple joys.

Richard was a devoted husband to his wife, Jennifer Miller. Together they built a life centered around love and family. He was a proud father to Kayla (Trenton) Wilson, Kyle (Carolyn) Miller, and Kassandra (Mason) Lansing. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy; he cherished every moment spent with Brayton and Eli Wilson, Evelynn, Easton, and Cheyanne Miller, and Kali Lansing.

He also shared close bonds with extended family members including his nephew Jared Miller; his in-laws Carolyn and Dennis Gentry; Jackie and Chris Dydell; Travis Gentry; his nephews Conner and Kazlee Gentry, and Kaleb Dydell. His niece, Taylor Dydell. These relationships were an important part of Richard’s life.

Richard regarded it as a great honor to have Willie Rickel in his life, affectionately referring to him as his “Crumbly Buddy.” Their relationship was characterized by mutual support and a deep sense of camaraderie, consistently uplifting one another in meaningful ways. Willie brought joy and laughter into his life, leaving behind cherished memories of their time together.

Richard was preceded in death by his cousin Jason “Jay” Miller, his brother Tony Miller, and his parents Patricia and Norman Miller. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

A man who found joy in the everyday moments, Richard enjoyed playing casino games and exploring Google games on his phone. He loved watching movies — often sharing them with those around him — and riding his bike through the neighborhood or countryside.

His work in construction reflected both his skill and strong work ethic. Always ready to lend a hand, he took great pride in helping his children with their projects.

Above all else, Richard treasured time spent with his grandchildren. Whether playing games or simply being present in their lives, he embraced every opportunity to be part of their world.

May Richard’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire the love he so freely gave.

To honor Richard, the family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
