Former MoWest women's lacrosse goal keeper Mackenzie Porter is trading in her black and gold for black and red as a new head coach at William Jewell College.
Porter has been named the women's lacrosse coach for the Cardinals, replacing former head coach Kallie Muck. Porter joins Jewell after spending one year coaching Park Girls Lacrosse Club. A recent graduate of Missouri Western State University, Porter was a four-time All-GLVC Second Team selection, while also being tabbed GLVC Defensive Player of the Week twice in the 2023 season.
Porter ended her career with the Griffons with over 500 career saves and collecting over 200 ground balls. Off of the field, she was a three-time Academic All-GLVC selection, named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2023, and was selected as a two-time recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. Porter began her collegiate playing career at Division I Rutgers University.
Coming from Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York, Porter was a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American and was named NYS Section 1 Goalkeeper of the Decade in 2020, earning numerous All-League and All-Section selections.
One of Porter's first coaching opportunities at William Jewell will be against her alma mater as MoWest opens their season on February 14th in Liberty against the Cardinals. William Jewell will also come to Spratt Stadium to play the Griffons on April 10th in GLVC Conference play.
