The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office announced Friday sweeping reform of security at the county courthouse, on their Facebook page. Starting Monday, public access will be limited to the east side of the building, on Market Street. The entrance on Main will not be available.

A security checkpoint has been installed just inside the eastern entrance, with a walk-through metal detector that any and all individuals will have to go through. Several items are barred from the building beyond that checkpoint as well:

The Sheriff's Office advises visitors to plan accordingly and allow additional time to get through the checkpoint.
