Brenda Dianne Kerns, 64 of Savannah, MO went to be with the Lord Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born February 1, 1961 to Ralph and Mary Rose (Warner) Farmer. She married Robert W. Kerns in St Joseph, MO on July 21, 1984 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2004.
For many years, Brenda shared her love of learning and teaching with countless students at Amazonia Elementary School, where she inspired young minds with patience, creativity, and kindness. After retiring from the public school system, Brenda continued to touch children’s lives through teaching at Country Kids Learning Center, where she remained a beloved part of the community.
Outside of the classroom, Brenda enjoyed cheering on the Saints/Mustangs baseball team and the Kansas City Chiefs, attending games and sharing her love of sports with friends and family. Above all, she deeply loved and was incredibly proud of her son, Allen, who was the light of her life.
She is survived by her son, Allen (Shannon) Kerns of Savannah; sisters, Linda (Olen) Reed of Gower, MO & Laura Farmer of Savannah; mother-in-law Mary Kay Kerns of Savannah, brothers-in-law Tony (Teresa) Kerns of Angleton, Tx & Devon (Stacy) Kerns of Savannah. Along with multiple nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and father-in-law, Robert W. Kerns.
Visitation and family receiving hours will be 5:00pm – 7:00pm Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Private family interment will be at Savannah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Andrew County Senior Center for Meals on Wheels at 12737 State Rte. E, Savannah, MO 64485.
