Stanley F. “Stan” Hall, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023.
He was born September 20, 1932 in Savannah, Missouri to William Alanson and Clare (Frazee) Hall.
Stan graduated from Savannah High School, then earned his degree in AB Psychology-Sociology from the University of Missouri.
He married Doris Jean Coy on August 31, 1956. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2014.
Stan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for two years and the Reserves for 26 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
He then began a long and varied career in business. He worked for 20 years in various Sales and Management positions with American Electric Co. of St. Joseph, as well as being based in Woodward, OK, and Fort Collins, CO, then went on to serve as President and General Manager of Seaman & Schuske Metal Works Co. He then was Downtown Development Manager for the St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce, then Executive Director of the St. Joseph Development Corporation.
Stan was very active in the community, serving on the board of directors for the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Missouri Western Gold Coats, Heartland Health Foundation, St. Joseph Historical Society, and Performing Arts Association. He and Doris also played Santa and Mrs. Claus for the annual Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art “Breakfast With Santa” for many years.
He also was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, St. Joseph Rotary Club #32, American Legion #287, BPO Elks, Brookdale Presbyterian Church; The Retired Officers Association (TROA, MOAA), Savannah Lodge #71 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Moila Shrine Temple, and various local military, arts, historical and sports memberships.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Doris; his son, John Hall; his parents; and a sister, Genevieve Fallis (Pat).
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Martz (Matthew); granddaughters, Emily McPhee (Joel), and Dora Elizabeth Martz (Johnny Granfors); great-granddaughters, Molly Jo McPhee and Maggie Jean McPhee; nephew, Mike and Holly Fallis and their children, Patterson and Paige, and cousin Debbie and Bill Fanning and their daughter, Abby and her son, Corbin Shuman.
