It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Crawford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on May 6, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on January 1, 1953, in Kansas City, she was the cherished daughter of Ronald and Kathleen Roberts. Nancy lived a life filled with love, joy, and laughter, and her legacy will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Nancy was married to Rodney Crawford in 1972, embarking on a journey that would be marked by unwavering love and devotion. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two wonderful children, Shannon and Kris Crawford, who were always the pride and joy of her life. Nancy's role as a mother was one she embraced wholeheartedly, nurturing her children with warmth and affection.
As a grandmother, Nancy's heart expanded even further. She adored her granddaughters, Kirsten and Caitlin, and created cherished memories with them that will last a lifetime. From shopping for back-to-school supplies to celebrating Christmas traditions, Nancy’s love was a constant source of joy in their lives. Nancy embraced the role of a great-grandmother with pride and showered her great-granddaughter, Charlotte, with an abundance of love and affection at every opportunity.
Nancy's life was enriched by her relationships. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney; her children, Shannon and Kris (Cathy); her granddaughters, Kirsten and Caitlin; her great-granddaughter, Charlotte; her brother, Michael Ray; her nieces, Kathleen and Christina; and her brother-in-law, Marvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother Kenny Ray and her dear sister Patti Little, whose memories will be forever cherished.
Nancy was known for her dedicated work with Hallmark Cards, where she embraced her creativity and passion for artistry. Outside of her career, Nancy found immense joy in various hobbies and interests. She was an exceptional baker, famously known for her special chocolate cupcakes that delighted everyone around her. She loved attending concerts with her siblings Patti and Michael, and relished the simple pleasures of lunches and shopping outings with those she loved.
Nancy's greatest strength was her ability to connect with others. She cherished spending quality time with family and friends and created an environment filled with love and laughter. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and her absence will be profoundly felt.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Wayside Waifs or St. Jude, organizations that reflect Nancy’s compassionate spirit and her love for helping others.
A private service will be held in her honor. Nancy’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Nancy. Your love and laughter will remain with us always.
