Glenn Dale Atkins, Rosendale, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Dale was born on December 3, 1927 in Fillmore, Missouri to the late William Franklin and Anna (Ueligger) Atkins. Dale was a graduate of Fillmore High School.
Dale farmed his whole life until his retirement.
Dale loved sports, St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City CHIEFS. He coached softball and in his younger days he played guitar and sang in a band with his brothers. He was an avid card player. Dale was a member of the Rosendale Christian Church.
Dale married Lola Marie (Shaffer) Atkins on January 12, 1947 in Savannah, MO. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2020.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Diana Marie Atkins; son, Danny L. Atkins, and brothers Lloyd, Dean and Larry Atkins.
Dale is survived by sons, Randy (Linda) Atkins, and Ricky (Lori) Atkins of Rosendale, and Eugene Atkins of Maryville; daughter-law, Cheryl Atkins of St. Joseph; 8 grandchildren, 32 great-grand-children, and 6 great-great grand-children; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be Saturday March 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, March 8, 2024 at Heaton-Bowman-SmithSavannah Chapel, Interment Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to North Andrew Scholarship Foundation.
