Keith Culley 1945 - 2024

Keith Culley, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024. 

He was born July 16, 1945 in Maysville, Missouri to Leslie and Ada (House) Culley. He graduated from Maysville High School, then served his country in the U.S. Navy.

After the service, a pretty little girl named Marcella caught Keith’s eye while he was playing with his band, the Midnight Cowboys. Keith and Marcella Kay Palmer were married on June 27, 1971. 

The couple settled down on a farm near Maysville, where they raised three daughters, Monica, Lisa and Melissa.

Keith was a top grain bin salesman for Modern Farm Systems (MFS), and traveled the country installing grain elevators. He later owned and operated Keith Culley Crane Rental.

After retirement, Keith became an avid collector of knives, guitars, guns, and classic cars. He also took up karaoke, showcasing his wonderful voice with family and friends.

Most of all, Keith was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He leaves a lasting legacy of love, a strong work ethic and music for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joyce Ann Custer.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 53 years, Marcella; daughters, Monica Coats (Steven), Lisa Benedict (Rickie Benedict Jr.), and Melissa Looker (Dar); grandchildren, Trevor, Mason, Ashley, Preston, Leaetta, Tyce, Teagan, and Taryn; brother, Wayne L. Culley (Patty); Marcella’s brothers and sisters; and several other extended family members and friends.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Shambaugh & Cope Cemetery, Maysville.
