MARYVILLE, Missouri – The Northwest Missouri State
University football team will play a 10-game schedule in 2020 that will feature
five home contests at Bearcat Stadium.
In response to the NCAA requirements in maximum and minimum allowable contests
and dates for the 2020-2021 season, the MIAA's
CEO Council approved a new 10-game football schedule. The MIAA also voted to have no Thursday
night games during the 2020 season.
Northwest will open the season Sept. 12 at Nebraska-Kearney.
Northwest's home opener in Bearcat Stadium is set for Sept. 19 against Fort
Hays State.
The Bearcats will also play home games against Pittsburg State (Oct. 3,
Northeastern State (Oct. 10 – Homecoming, Missouri Southern (Oct. 31) and
Lincoln (Nov. 14).
Northwest football season tickets and renewals will go on sale July 1 online only.
No in-person sales will be available in the Administration Building on the
Northwest campus. Northwest is moving away from paper tickets to a hard card
ticket that can be utilized for multiple years. It is similar to a hotel key or
credit/debit card. It will be personalized to the seat(s) that are purchased
and usable for all home games. It also allows for tickets to be put on a
smartphone and scanned at the stadium.
All Northwest students receive a free e-ticket to each home regular season
game.
The Northwest football team is coming a season which saw the Bearcats win a
share of their 30th MIAA regular
season title. Northwest was also selected to compete in the NCAA Division II
Playoffs for the 24th time overall and 16th straight appearance. The Bearcats
the Div. II quarterfinals and finished with a mark of 12-2.
